This is the first of a series of benches discovered on a weekend trip on the Alp di Siusi in the Southern Tyrolean Dolomites in Italy. Alp di Siusi is the largest Alpine meadow on an altitude between 1650 – 2350, with mountains around, reaching more than 3000 m height.
To give you an impression with what luxury of beauty this area is equipped I start with this bench.
Keep in mind the nice-view-criteria of the definition for a good bench and see what view you have on the back side of that bench: the so called Schlerngroup with the long stretched plateau and the two peaks on the right side, the Santner and the Euringer.
And then the “real” view when sitting correctly on the bench: the Plattkofel and the Langkofel, massive mountains reaching 3000 m into the sky.
I was just wondering how long it took and how tough it must have been for the constructor of that bench to make up his mind into which direction he should put the bench?
Well, which ever way it would have fulfilled the nice-view-criteria.
