Alpe di Siusi IV – The fallen trees

Continuing the trail from Compatsch to the Schlern House, gaining some hight, in one of the turns of the trail you see something, which in the first view just looks like two fallen trees. Well, of course you can use a fallen tree to sit on, but you would not call it in the first instant a bench.

However, when looking closer to these two fallen trees, you realize that they are not just fallen, but they have been skillfully crafted. Both, especially the upper one, have been flattened to have a more comfortable seat. The lower tree fixed in a good distance, so you can put your feet on when sitting on the higher one. Still you can just sit on the lower tree if you do not want to take the step up.

And then the roots, also slightly flattened to propose comfortable seating on different levels but still keeping their natural form and on top offering a back rest to lean on.

So, the closer look definitely comes to the conclusion that this is a bench. No doubt, an extraordinary bench.
