Benches from the Past

Recently I had the chance to visit one of the remote temple areas in Vietnam. The ruines looked a bit like the famous temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, but seemed to be much smaller.

It also appeared to me that the site was hit by bombs during the Vietnam war in the 60s and 70s.

I looked around for a place to sit, but no options other than the stones of the ancient ruines.

Then while walking around to explore, unexpectedly a mystic group of benches appeared hidden inbetween the trees in front of me. They did not look like anyone had sit on them for ages. They also seemed to not wanted to be sit on.

I assume they must have had a life before the war. I left them alone and moved on to have a rest on those 3 friendly “guys”.

By sitting on one of the three guys it was easy to enjoy the view over the little pond.

If you ever want to visit the ruines of the temple you have to endure a nice one hour car ride from Hoi An, which is a small town near Da Nang.

What a comeback! After you have been some benches behind and a bit rare in terms of bench postings, you pitch a douple whooper. Both the ancient ones and the three guys are definitely hot candidates for the top ten. Chapeau.
