Dukes fish farm benches

There is another great place in the Bavarian Alps which is called Wildbad Kreuth. As the name indicates it was originally a Spa. Pretty famous in its best times. Build by Maximilian I. King of Bavaria, visited by Emperors and Russian Tsars, today owned by the Dukes of Bavaria.

Close to this place there is the Dukes fish farm, breeding mainly trouts and the local fish called saibling. I guess in old days the fish farm was providing the fish for the Spa guests. Nowadays you can go there sit in a small beer garden or just buy the fresh fish and prepare it at home.

At one of the ponds there is a base build and equipped with two benches.

The base is slightly build above the pond so you can easily watch the fishes swimming underneath. I am pretty sure that some of the Spa guests in the old days were sitting here and having some talk. Given the caliber of the guests in those days these benches might be witnesses of some historical decisions.

Looking on the opposite side you can see the huts of the fish farm.

Turning a bit left and looking upward you can see the buildings of the old Spa Wildbad Kreuth.

Good that I left this benches you to write about, as I never would have assumed the twist, that emperors might have been sitting on them and eventually might have spoken about bigger things than we did, when we were sitting on them.

But then to twist it further, I am sure FJ Strauss must have been sitting on the benches and philosophised how he can become the German chancellor at that time.
