On 30th December 2016 I went for a hike to Tegernsee. The weather was beautiful, I planed to go for one of the favorite short tracks, have a walk of about 1 hour and enjoy a Weißbeer on the Neureuth Terrace. When I arrived there, it was crowded like hell, so I decided to walk on to “Kreuzberg Hut” as I knew for sure that the “Gindelalm Huts” which are half way to Kreuzberg Hut are closed for sure at this time of the year.
On top of the “Gindelamschneid” is a cross. But not only a cross, there is also a bench from where you have fantastic views.
…on one side the view towards the lowlands
…on the other side towards the mountains of the Alps
…and if you look straight down you have the view on the three Gindelalms. A place as OUR pope Benedikt XVI once said: If I need to imagine the paradise, it would be like my homeland Bavaria.

Then I recalled the story which Hartmut, a colleague of mine, told me some time ago. So I went closer to the bench…
…and a bit closer, and yes, it was the bench Hartmut’s family donated to him.
Beside the beautiful paradise-like landscape this is in addition benchers heaven 😉
