Alpe de Siusi IX – Kathy Reno

It is not unusual that names are officially graved in benches. Very often it is that someone donates or “buys” a bench and his name is then mentioned on the bench. Or someone else dedicates a bench for you.

At the end of one of our hikes on Alpe di Siusi, not far away from the cable car station in Compatsch, I found this bench, dedicated to “In memory of Kathy Reno Storyteller and Historian”

I did not know Kathy Reno, but I thought that she must have been a special person that someone has dedicated this fine bench to her.

I tried to find out more about Kathy but so far I could only find a facebook link with some pictures. On some of those pictures you see people looking at her and listening. Most likely she was telling stories to an attentive audience.
