No. I – Exception of the rule (What-makes-a-bench-a-good-bench)

While I in general agree on the rule of “What-makes-a-bench-a-good-bench” (Comfort and view), I have to admit that there are exceptions as for any rule. And here is the first one:

This is the bench in the garden of our apartment where we stayed in Berchtesgaden. As the bench was located in the private garden of the landlady, the famous Annemie Schneider, Gold medal winner in Paralymic Wintergames 1976/80 in downhill skiing, we could not test whether the bench was comfortable or not (even though from distance it looks like). If it comes to the view, well. The picture is made from the balcony of our apartment. So, when you sit on the bench the view would be towards the house. The house was nice, but having the Watzmann in the back side as alternative, the house will definitely not win.

However, the bench is located in a surrounding which is a  just perfect set up, the flowers, the arrangements of the trees and stones, and the bench located aside surrounded by the bushes. So, even the seating on the bench might not be too comfortable (in fact we do not know) and the view would for sure be better if you stand up and turn around, no matter, in this composition the bench is good bench.
