South of Munich there are a couple of lakes. A bit further south of the famous Starnberger Lake you can find the Osterseen (Easter Lakes). This is a moor area with more than 20 small lakes, created during the last ice age when the glaciers were melting (well, unfortunately they still are melting)
Every now and then you find in this nature reserve a place to rest and enjoy the view. There was one bench I chose because of the ivy coming down from the forest, wind around the legs and slowly taking possession of the bench. I will surely go back to this place to check out whether the bench became an ivy bench over time.
and then of course the view over two of the smaller Osterseen.
The second bench I chose is one of these basic, natural but creative benches. A tree stump and two planks. Not even sure whether they fixed the planks with some nails. Most likely not.
At some places the area of the Easter Lakes reminded me of the “Taubergiessen” (Rhine wetlands), a nature reserve stretching along the Rhine from Basle (Switzerland) to Karlsruhe (Germany). Easy to reach from our home town.
One difference is that from the Easter Lakes you have at some places a great panorama view on the Alps at the horizon.
