This is a circular stone bench, it is just opposite of the Bunratty Castle.
It is shaped like a gorget (= thin gold collar dating to the Bronze Age), which refers to golden artefacts found mid of the 19th century during the laying of a railway.
Most of the pieces have been lost (melted and sold). The inscript says: Sculptor: Fred Conlon, Sligo April, 1993
