Waterford: married couple in front of Christ Church

Aoife, the daughter of Diarmaid MacMurrough, the King of Leinster, married a guy known as “Strongbow” in 1170 AD in Christ Church in Waterford. This opened the door for the anglo-norman reign in Ireland. The event is nicely reflected in this “bench for 2” in front of the cathedral.

That is a new highlight on the board. A really important contribution to “Benchmark”. Thank you.
