On the top: Plattenkogel in Austria

Usually there is a cross at the top of an Austrian mountain. But this does not apply to the Plattenkogel: The Plattenkogel is a nature reserve since 1933. The top itself is a flat area of 150m radius, and it is not allowed to build anything there; even the cross is a bit further down (pls zoom into the picture)

But: This picknick area is placed on the highest spot and the best location to enjoy the gorgeous view on the Ziller Valley.

Side remark: On one of the benches you can find a sign: “Donated by Anni & Hans” with 2 hearts – obviously a romantic background

Best regards from your “Bencher”

Nice place. Would like to be there as well. But why can they build benches but not the cross?
