“Banken” and Benches in Holland Village

The English speaking Germans might get the word-play almost immediately. “Bank” or plural “Banken” is the German word for bench or benches. But the word “Bank” has 2 meanings in the German language. It could be the bank where you go to deposit your savings or it could be the bench, where you try to sit and rest and watch.

There are more banks than benches on this picture. These are  benches and banks in Holland Village, which is a little nice  corner of Singapore, spiced with restaurants, pubs and bars and not to forget, banks.

Holland village is definetly a place to go when you are in Singapore. It is hustling and bustling with people. At night the small road is blocked by a bar and no car can go in. Chairs and tables are put on the road and beer is served by the pine.
