Hörnle’s lake view
Hörnle’s lake view There is a little mountain near Bad Kohlgrub, called Hörnle. Munich kids know it well: It’s only 1404 m high, but this is high enough for a ski lift and used for beginners; and in summer time parents do the first mountain tours with their kids. So, it’s always crowded 😟 But…

The benches of new NOMA
The un-doubtable highlight of the Copenhagen trip was the dinner at the new NOMA. A once in a lifetime event (very difficult to get a table for the dinner) and truly an experience of food creation and presentation. In fact it is not a dinner, it is a kind of art-performance of food. http://noma.dk/ https://www.facebook.com/nomacph/ When approaching…

Cape Point
Probably the most southern bench (in Africa). This bench is on top of Cape Point. You need to take the walk up to the old beacon to find it. It‘s a very windy spot, but a great view of the cliffs. Just imagine that it might be made of some relicts of sunk ships…

Ziller Valley geo-cachers bench
This bench is located at a viewpoint at the Wanglspitze (2422m) in the Ziller Valley in Austria. Even though it is an official viewpoint, it is also a VERY dangerous location: Not only in winter due to avalanches as the sign indicates, but this bench is right at the edge of a cliff going down about 100m. Only three steps…

Who is sitting on this bench? If you do not want to sit alone, join this guy.
It is a while ago that I got inspired to write about a bench. Anyway at the first glance a bench is not really an object you might want to write about. Even the spirit of the other contributors of the “Bench Mark” has died down. They might have lost the purpose why to shoot…

“Banken” and Benches in Holland Village
The English speaking Germans might get the word-play almost immediately. “Bank” or plural “Banken” is the German word for bench or benches. But the word “Bank” has 2 meanings in the German language. It could be the bank where you go to deposit your savings or it could be the bench, where you try to…

Pont du Gard in Nimes
The view describes the location well enough: The Romans needed plenty of water for the city of Nimes and builded a 50km long water pipe. The Pont du Gard is a well-known relict of this Roman engineering , dated back to the first century. This bench looks as old as the bridge itself and is…
